How to make a cake in the shape of a parallelogram?
My daughter will be 7 in a couple of days and he wants a cake shaped like a parallelogram. I know this should be quite simple, but I prefer not having to cut that way when finished baking. The only other way I can think of is to use a plate 9×13 and put some kind of division on both sides at an angle and pour the mixture in. The reason is so you can still cook with left over dough in another pan small cake (there will be plenty of people attending so you need the extra) Do you think this will work? Do you have any idea? Thanks!
Wow! I wonder how many adults know what a parallelogram is! I think the easiest thing to do would be to bake the cake and trim excess. A divider could move and do a little uneven or mass could escape underneath it making it burn. Get your favorite parallelogram and track in a bit of thin cardboard (works best plain paper only). Once the cake is completely cooled, place the template on top, and trim the excess with a sharp knife. Brush off excess crumbs, and then you can frost. You could use the clippings to make a cake like a triangle. Good luck and wish you a happy birthday!
