Baking Pan for toaster oven
My toaster oven turned Scupey in trouble black. What is the problem?
So I did a test on a toaster oven, I bought for my Sculpey. I took all the precautions, Put it in 250 F (I was recommended to cook smaller but a little) and within 4-5 minutes, it was black and smoking like crazy. The pieces were about Sculpey quarter inch thick, and I put them in a saucepan multiple uses within the toaster oven (which also advised me to do) and although the toaster oven was not specific "Cook" the bet, it was a temperature dial that I used. I think it was either fried or baked .. Anyone have an idea of what happened, or can someone advise me what type of oven to buy because I think the one mentioned above is now ruined? I do not want to spend another $ 30 on a toaster oven just to frustrate my clay again.
You had elements too close to the source heat. You need not cook the roast Sculpey. You should be able to use the toaster oven again. Wash thoroughly, then use something as a foil to cover the issue as a shield. You do not have to cover it, but just take a flat piece on top to deflect heat rays from the elements. also make sure the thermostat is working properly.
