What should I do if my Cake Pan full of batter overflows in the oven?
I was baking cakes in 2 the oven, but both began to overflow into the oven. I turned off the oven, brought them out. I cleaned up their mess in the oven my best and put the two Cake Pans on a baking sheet to prevent spills over. The cakes were baked for perhaps 10 minutes. I turned my back on the oven temperature and put in the back. This situation is still recoverable or my cakes are ruined now? (And should I cook in the oven now First, it is not completely clean, just the coil) Thanks for all the answers. My cakes went well, just ended up cooking a little longer and had a slight smell smoked them, which will probably be covered by sugar glaze.
I did not really answer your question, but I always followed the rule of my grandmother taught me. NEVER fill all the way UP, IF YOU DO YOU WILL disorder. hehe. Always leave atleast 1 inch of top.
