Put the flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder in a brown paper bag. One by one, cover the chicken pieces with mixture. In a large skillet, brown the chicken in one inch of hot oil until browned. Wow! I imagine the sherry against purpose of fried chicken … in other words sogs crispy crust on the chicken. As a substitue … white wine … Sauvingnon Blanc, for example.
