Bird owners – What brands of kitchen utensils are safe for birds?
I know that anything is non-stick bad, but if you think there really is not much out there these days that is not nonstick. Pans are simple, I can use stainless steel. Anyone know if Calphalon anodized aluminum plates are safe? When it comes to Cookie Sheets and other Bakeware, what brands do you recommend? I cook a lot, and unfortunately live in a small apartment to smoke would fairly quickly, even if my little-to-be timneh were in another room with the door closed. I am extremely careful about that because my cockatiel died this way even if the door my room was closed. This seems to be the most endangered birds tricky to overcome. Any other tips are greatly appreciated.
I my conure Fishing and fronted Parakeet Quaker on opposite sides of my kitchen door in my apartment, and I use Corning French White Cookware Visionware and a good old cast iron. There some very attractive enameled cast iron pots, pans, skillets and heat evenly, and you can spray with PAM, which helps a lot. I think the Calphalon anodized aluminum plates are safe. I also have Stainless Steel Pans coated cast iron is great, too. But I do not shy away from it all "nonstick" cookware, because I could not forgive myself if one of my sheep were die because of smoke. Hope this helps some.
