Is silicone bakeware safe?
I just use a brand called "Safeware" and left a strong chemical smell and taste of the cake. Has anyone else had this problem?
No. I do not use silicone bakeware unless I am sure, without doubt it is 100 and pure silicone .. and nothing else. You know the price. If it's cheap .. then using filler material and security can not be promised. Real things, it worth the money. It will retain its shape forever, so you can roll up, secure with a rubber band .. saves space. This is not porous and will not break .. so it is almost always. Does not stain, does not melt, and definitely not going to stop odors in their baked goods. That is scary. I know Le Creuset makes a bead of silicone they are absolutely 100% silicone .. only has to deal with unpleasant colors .. haha. neon orange or blue is not exactly my complement the decor …. but are impressive for its use. If I were you, I'd like to take the and write an angry letter in the hope of obtaining a refund for the horrible things.
