Have you ever used your outdoor grill (BBQ'er) to cook breakfast?
What is your favorite breakfast cooking on the grill? Is it safe to use your cookware in your grill? Or is there a special container to use? I am thinking about using the grill to cook most of my meals during the summer because it's so hot here, and you save on gas, in addition to keeping my house to get hot from the oven. Not save on electricity use from air conditioner.
Sure, all you need is a cast iron skillet. Meat and eggs come to mind, or here is a great recipe with bacon, egg and potatoes. Breakfast Skillet Serves 8 fire "bacon, eggs, and potatoes are cooked over the campfire for a hearty start to your day! This is the recipe for a cook who always camping, it is easy and very filling:. "Ingredients 1 / 2 pound bacon slices 4 cups potatoes, peeled and diced 1 / 2 onion, chopped (optional) 6 eggs 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Instructions: 1. Cook bacon to desired doneness in a cast iron skillet over slow burning coals of the grid. Remove bacon from pan and reserve. Stir potatoes and onion in hot bacon fat. Cover, and cook until potatoes are tender, about 10 to 12 minutes. 2. Crumble the bacon into the potatoes. Stir in eggs, cover and cook until firm, about 2 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese and let melt before serving.
